Language Instruction for Newcomers: teach Benchmarks 0 English to level 7. Coming up early January 2008 will teach Benchmarks level 7 to 10 for Nurses and Engineers. More Information... Students must not be Canadian citizens (i.e., convention refugees, landed immigrants) and must need improvement in their English skills. Provides English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction. Classes emphasize orientation to Canadian culture and integration into Canadian society. Program components are: Language Instruction Classes (oral and written); use of the Language Laboratory's audiovisual equipment; Computer instruction. Volunteer tutor program for students needing one-to-one assistance. Language assessments are done by the Multicultural Centre. More Information...
